OMG .. Now I realize that you are Ileana Hunter.. and you answered me once!!! Whoooaaaa! I'm a huge fan of your work. Really! You are always on my page, w/ credits, of course.. Big love from Brazil, babe! Your art is here.. Yaaaaay!! :-]
I find this particular piece to be really inspiring, and not completely because of the subject, who we all know. The choice of her, though, is what makes it stand out for me, because she's such a hectic being, one obsessed with bizzare and over-the-top amounts of props, seeing her in a minimalistic fashion really makes it that much more rare to me. Truly a great use of both technique and subject matter.
You know, for a while now I've been thinking I want to try out this same style, but you know how it is, with what people say, thinking that because an artist tries to do something like he's seen another artist do, he's just imitating, or "copying" that artist.
I know you're not one to think that way, but I know you know people think like that! It's absurd! If no one did something just because someone else has done it in a similar way before then nothing would ever be built upon! There wouldn't be any new abstract painters, or realism painters, or contemporary hyper-realist pencil artists because it's "already been done." So I think it's fair to say that there isn't anything wrong with me wanting to do something in the style which you often use, just because I've seen your work it doesn't mean my work will be any less valuable.
